We’re changing how new homes are built
River City Builders was founded in 2010 by Rick Giles, a successful real estate agent who was born and raised right here in Richmond, VA. As a Long & Foster Realtor®, Rick quickly discovered that although there were a lot of new home builders in Richmond, most of the homes being built were too expensive, used generic building supplies, or employed undocumented workers. The result was poorly constructed homes with floor plans that lacked popular features his clients wanted.
Rick knew there was a better way, so with the help of his wife Stacey, he planned his first home—a Lindsey, which he affectionately named after his daughter. Rick built this home as if he were building it for his own family. That meant using experienced and licensed local craftspeople, brand-name building supplies, and a whole lot of care. River City’s first home was an immediate success, and their new homeowners couldn’t have been happier.
Hey, we’re pretty good at this stuff
Today, River City has expanded its offerings to include multiple beautiful new home plans, and the company has partnered with several residential land developers. As a result, you can now find River City homes in Ashland, Mechanicsville, and on private lots throughout Richmond. Visit one of our spec home sites, inspect our quality, note the cleanliness of our worksite, and you’ll swear we’ve been in the new home business for generations.
Our new homes have the features you want
Browse through our new home plans, and you’ll find some of today’s most sought-after features, including first-floor master suites, covered front porches, and side load garages. Plus, most of our plans come standard with high-end amenities other builders charge extra for, such as gas fireplaces, hardwood floors, and granite countertops. But the best thing about buying a River City home is that each one is built with the same quality, care, and attention to detail that went into our very first model.
